One Room Challenge Week 6: Better than Not Bland

Chronicling my adventures restoring and updating a quirky old Philadelphia rowhouse

One Room Challenge Week 6: Better than Not Bland

Well, we could call the room done, but we’re still having heating issues. So the same project that started early gets to finish late. Not my favorite job.

And now for the good stuff.

Getting the rug and all the paintings together made decorating the room a lot less intimidating.

With the bookcases and the picture rail, the bed wall now has just enough going on.

It was a very last minute decision to paint the picture rail the wall color. As in, while we were painting.

And remember where Ninja liked to hang out in the middle of this?

He’s comfy in that same place now.

Very elegant room with a lovely calming vibe. Place to read a book, take a nap or move in as a permanent guest?

  2. The built in bookshelves look great. Iā€™m glad Ninja approves as well. The entire room looks much more polished now. Do you have trouble leaving? I would never want to get out of bed if my room looked that good.

  3. I absolutely love the light fixture! And this is a lovely room. Good luck with getting the heating sorted!

Incredible work ! the shutters, the floor gives a something of colonial style … the color of the painted materials, the choice of furniture create a very beautiful harmony. and the high point: the library. it’s like being in a beautiful hotel room in the Keys Islands … maybe Hemingway’s house bravo šŸ’ŖšŸ»šŸ’ŖšŸ»šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ
